It's Nano time

Nanowrimo time!

50,000 words in one month. Piece of cake. I can word up with the best of 'em. My middle name is Verbose. Too bad my last name is Procrastination.

Just got the book in the mail today. No Plot, No Problem, by Chris Baty. I was pretty happy that I'd remembered to order before November 1st, unlike the last two times. But I should have gotten it a month ago. The first two chapters are devoted to getting ready to write! I probably should have known that! After all, this is my third year doing NaNoWriMo - and the first two years I bought the book, barely glanced at it, churned out about 50,000 ridiculous words, then sold the book on ebay, vowing never to do it again.

Yet here I am. Churning.

And it doesn't say, No Plot, No Preparation, No Problem.

Still, they (whoever they are) could have warned me that it's not just a matter of sitting down at the keyboard on November 1st and cranking out a bunch of words, stringing them together into sentences and hoping that they'll hang together by the end of the month. Maybe reading the book will help. Having it sitting on the shelf certainly didn't do anything but irritate me before.

But I'm already behind! And I haven't started!

Oh well, another few hours won't make a difference. I'll start preparing tomorrow. After a good night's sleep.
