The only reason I liked working in a law office is because each case was like a story. The process was like a plot formula - first there was an incident that started the whole thing - usually someone did something wrong to someone else, then the someone else complained and became the plaintiff. The antagonist and protagonist depended on if you were representing the plaintiff or defendant. In any case there is no shortage of drama, angst and tension.
It might seem twisted, but I loved reading case files. Letters to and from attorneys, as they rattled swords at each other. I knew the subtext, how well the attorneys knew each other, what was going on behind the scenes. Usually the resolutions ended up being something close to what would have happened if they'd only been reasonable in the first place, each party just putting aside their own anger and hurt and thinking logically.
Sometimes though, the conclusion surprised everyone involved. Like this one. The Borealis family against the world.
